Mr. Edmund Barwuah

Congratulations Developer Mr. Barwuah!!

Please read his profile below.

Edmund Barwuah has a wealth of experience in Telecoms, Fintech and large retail product distribution and management across Africa and Asia.
He is currently the General Manager, Sales and Distribution for MTN Group in Johannesburg.
Before this role he servers as the Director of FinTech between 2019 and 2021 at Ooredoo Myanmar Limited, a leading Mobile Network Operator in Southeast Asia.
He has also served as General Manager for MTN Zambia in charge of mobile financial services between 2018 and 2020 where he oversaw a transformational agenda that placed MTN as the market leader in the Southern African country. As Director of Mobile Financial Services for AirtelTigo in Ghana, Edmund oversaw the integration of large platforms, products, and team integrations after a merger.
As the head of Airtel Mobile Commerce in Ghana, his high commercial acumen was put to the test when he led the team to navigate hurdles to prove the commercial viability of the mobile money business in that entity.
He is excited about the future of FinTechs and the opportunity it presents as a key driver of economic growth especially in developing countries. For this reason, he has initiated and led several MNO-FinTech-bank integrations and co-management of products in both Africa and Asia.
Edmund holds an MBA in Marketing from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration and BSc. AgricultureTechnology from the University for Development Studies. Edmund is married with three kids and enjoys spending quality time with his young family when they are around.
Two things stood out for me. TTFPP was key in shaping my thoughts about life. Helped me in understanding how to integrate into a new society or group of people and that helped me in joining new teams and managing people my space. The second thing was life itself on campus. UDS has one of the best program combinations and lecturers, but the school had very limited resources from accommodation to classrooms, lecture hall facilities etc. it thought me how to make maximum value out of limited resources.
