Kwame Nansoni in the Chereponi District (2016/2017).

A wonderful experience and wonderful people UDS gave me that I will never forget.

The days when we eat “second zero or chichabu” fruits, Shea fruits among others. Our farming days. I had my first experience using a cow to plough there. I was a key striker for my community team who led them to numerous victories🎖️, among others.

Lemme share some of my groups’ impacts in my community.

• Our community had a school where kids from most neighbouring communities attend but was lacking enough teachers. We assisted in teaching the students including the BECE candidates. As I speak, we have some of the students we taught in the AAMUSTED and KSTu.👏🏾👏🏾

• Through the pair-wise ranking method, we found out electricity was the community’s most pressing need and from what UDS taught us, we drafted a feasible solution to the problem. The community has electricity as I speak. Even though we do not take credit for that, the community does call me always to express their gratitude for the impact my group brought to them.

It was like they really needed us at that particular time.

There was a strong sense of solidarity among the students and the community members.

I remember they gave us 3 goats on different occasions when we had “Aponkye” Party🥳😅

We play football games between UDS students and community members, between males and females etc😅🥳.

I met a wonderful friend, Neleyoun Emmanuel (late) from Wa Campus, who was my group leader. It’s quite unfortunate we lost a wonderful person earlier this year. May you Rest In Power Neleyoun Emmanuel 🥀😔💔
