I am Abdul-Razak Ziblim a past student of Ghana Senior High school, Tamale (2001). I enrolled to study BSc. Agric Technology at University for Development Studies in 2002/03 academic year. I graduated successfully in 2006. I embarked on my national service at Damongo Agricultural College where I taught as a classroom teacher and subsequently a volunteer for a year (2007-2008). I had an appointment with Evangelical Presbyterian Development and Relief Agency as a project officer working in the area of Agric. business and community development for 2 and half years (2008-2010). I enrolled for my master of philosophy degree in community health and development at the then Allied Health Science Department of the UDS in 2011/12 and completed successfully in the 2013/14 academic year.
From 2013-2017, l had a part-time job with Camfed International, Ghana as the District Facilitator for the Tamale Metropolitan Area and Sagnarigu Municipality. During this period, over 20,000 girls were offered bursaries and mastercard scholarships to pursue various courses in second cycle and tertiary institutions in the then three Northern Regions and Central Region. In 2018, l was offered an appointment as a regulatory officer in Ghana Food and Drugs Authority where l conduct routine daily inspections on all imported foods and drugs at the Tema port.
UDS has undoubtedly shaped my career as a young development advocate. This is possible as a result of its unique academic curriculum which integrates academic work with community development. In spite of being one of the youngest Universities in Ghana, a lot of successful products have been churned out from this noble University making it one of the fastest growing Universities in West Africa in terms of academic excellence and area of community development. All of these credits go to the University for its quality of teaching and learning methodologies, and l am absolutely proud as an Alumnus of this University.
