The logo was designed by Stanley Kwesi Sallah (of 7GRAFFIX) as a “thank-you-for business” last achievement gift to the Raphael Abolasom led 2013/2014 UDS Tamale Campus SRC administration.

- The Tamale Campus was the first to be designed and released in 2014
- The Naming inscriptions were later changed in 2015 for use by the Nyankpala Campus and Navrongo Campus (now UTAS).
- A more unifying inscription of “UDS” instead of “UDS TAMALE CAMPUS” was created for use by the ruling Central SRC of the UDS in 2015 for the Amoako Ebenezer-led Central SRC (Nyankpala campus).
